Today has an interesting way of sneaking up on us. We always expect tomorrow, while commiserating about yesterday, yet Today always seems to be right there in the forefront.
"Tomorrow I'll get it done, or "Look how good we did yesterday." is often overshadowed by "Today is the day". Quite simply there is only Today anyway. Today we were born, today we will live, and today we will die. Your life is measured by what you do today. So how is it that Today after Today we wake up and get it wrong? We wake up believing that if we don't get it right today there is always tomorrow....Incorrect Sir. There is no tomorrow. This is only today. 365/366 days a year All Today. If you meet someone who says they woke up on tomorrow, buy that person a nice cool glass of "Get the Heck out of here" (It should be noted that I wanted to say something more perverse here, but that's just not my M.O. , so this is as risqué as it's going to get.) Alright down to brass tacks, if we strive to live our lives knowing we only have one day to operate in, we MAY be able to accomplish something worthwhile. We MAY be able to leave a lasting and positive foot print on history and affect the lives of others in a positive way. Those of us dreaming of tomorrow while regretting yesterday are not going to be able to take full advantage of the only Today they will get.

Time Semi Eternal
Time is an interesting dilemma. You need it to live, you
need it to grow, you need it to learn, but you can’t stop it and you can’t get
it back. Time is a fickle mistress.
At one point in my life I’m sure I thought “hey, I don’t
have to do that cause I can do it later…….”
When exactly is later? There are some things I have been putting off
since I was six and it’s still not later yet.
Whatever the reason we as humans have a tendency to put off the capricious
and inconvenient. Either we can’t figure
out what to do with “it” or we just don’t have the time to be bothered by “it”. I must be one of the most bothered people
alive today. I have to be cause I don’t
get very much accomplished on a daily basis.
Today I want to change that.
I don’t want to look at time as a loan that I don’t have the money to
pay. I want to look at time like rent,
do it now or get kicked out (ya dig?)
So, as a precursor to tomorrow (which doesn’t exist) and as a prologue to
yesterday (which also doesn’t exist) I’m going to start exploring today. There
is no time like the present they say or don’t put off something for tomorrow
that you can do today, or one bird in the hand is better than two in the bush,
or……..You get the point. It’s time and
I’m going.
